Every week 173 million people gather together to do the same thing.  It is a marvel of our country and a large driving force thereof.  Where do they find a large enough facility for this?  Wal Mart.  That’s right, each and every week 173 million people shop at Wal Mart stores around the country.

If that many people can agree to do the same thing week in and week out than I am forced to say that there must be something right there.  That being said today there was another group that decided to form a picketed protest outside of the world’s largest retailer’s home office.

These people were standing on the sidewalk right outside of Wal Mart’s home office holding signs that read famously “lower prices now lower morals” and “Wal Mart promotes sodomy” and my personal favorite was a kid no more than 9 years old holding a sign that read “Wal Mart funds murder and perversion.”

Think I’m kidding?  I wish I was.

Now I think we can all agree that they fund murder … wait … WHAT?!?

If you want to say that Wal Mart is bad for whatever reason, ok give me a reason.  I will never say that Wal Mart does everything right, but I also saw no evidence of murder!  So what has happened with these groups - wake up wal mart - save wal mart - wal mart sucks dot com - and all of the others?  What could their motivation be?  I believe that all they are looking for is a spot on the news so that more people go to their websites and donate money.

That’s right the very reason they hate Wal Mart sooo much is exactly what they are looking for … money.  These people spend millions of dollars lobying against Wal Mart.  Today the protest was in the name of Jesus Christ.  Please somebody tell me where in the bible Jesus went around spreading hate.  Jesus taught tolorance not hate.  You didn’t see him blowing up abortion clinics, flying into buildings, or writing “my dad hates fags” on a stone tablet.  So why do we think it’s ok to do it in His name?

Now that my seem extreme to say … and it is.  I say it to make my point.

Everyone out there reading this please go to Wal Mart Facts, Wake Up Wal Mart, and Save Wal Mart read what they have to say and make your choice,  I have.  I can tell you that I sleep just fine at night having shopped at Wal Mart.  Be looking for my follow up piece on what Wal Mart really is, and really means to me and the world.
