Gaylon is the Director for the Rogers Convention and Tourism Bureau and his comment in today’s Gazette further illustrates the communities of Northwest Arkansas coming together on issues, such as tourism, in order to attract a larger number of people to the area.
We’ve talked and blogged about it before, but this is the single most important factor in NWA’s growth over the next several years. Because of our uniqueness and lack of urban core, it is critical that people like Mr Gaylon reach out to the leaders of the other communites. Particularly in the next few years, when Rogers will open a new 9000 seat arena, Bentonville will open a world class art museum, and AA baseball is making a new home in Springdale. These additions will make an immediate impact on Northwest Arkansas’ tourism, but only if these communities reach out together to make it happen.
