Fayetteville Gets a Much Needed Movie Theater.

Ok I am a huge fan of Fayetteville, always have been always will be. The problem is if you want to go to a movie, and you don’t like the drive in, you really want to go to Rogers to see it in a new updated theater that has stadium seating etc. etc. Not any more, now you can go to a next generation state of the art movie theater in Fayetteville.

Malco?s Razorback Cinema opened on Joyce Boulevard near the Mall, Wal Mart, Best Buy, etc. It boasts 12 screens that are all digital. What’s the big deal with all digital you ask? Well even with all the new theaters out there they have traditionally only put digital sound and picture on one or two screens. That is why you may have noticed a sharper picture and crisper sound when you go see a huge action or scifi movie on opening night then go to see it again and notice a loss of quality.

There isn’t a huge difference in the two in my humble opinion but it is like going from DVD to VHS - there was a noticeable difference when you went to the better quality but a horrendous difference going back. As the effects from Hollywood get better and better digital sound and video take it to the next level for the viewing experience.

The digital equipment will allow the theater to also show events such as sporting events or concerts although as of now I have no indication that any of that is planned, but we can hope.
