Saturday fundraisers planned in Bella Vista
Two Saturday fundraisers at the Bella Vista Country Club are meeting with success.
Tickets are sold out for ?Fashion for a Cause,? a style show planned Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Bella Vista Country Club, with limited tickets still available for ?An Evening of Elegance? dance that night.
Hosted by the Bella Vista cookbook committee that created ?A Village With Taste,? the style show will run from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Neile Jones and Matt Turner from KNWA-TV will emcee the event in the historic clubhouse designed by noted American architect E. Fay Jones.
Saturday?s luncheon features 10 cookbook recipes ranging from Toscana soup to cr?me de menthe cake and a style show of 17 models, including Krystin Baker, 2007 Miss Lakes of the Northwest Outstanding Teen; retired State Rep. Shirley Borhauer, now a Bella Vista City Alderman; and Bella Vista POA Board Member Steve Morrow who also directs the Bella Vista Business Association and is manager of Allen?s Foods in Bella Vista.
?An Evening of Elegance? also is planned at the clubhouse from 6 to 10 p.m. on Saturday. The event features dancing to the music of Debby Horn and 21 hors d?oeuvres and desserts created from recipes selected for ?A Village With Taste.? Tickets at $30 each may be obtained by calling Sharon Ulmet at 876-2561.
Proceeds from both events will benefit the Bella Vista Animal Shelter and the Bella Vista Library. The cookbooks, which contain more than 700 recipes submitted by Bella Vista residents, also will be sold for $16 and silent auction bids will be accepted on gift baskets prepared by the Friends of the Library.
