Bella Vista Library Plans Feb. 24 Benefit Concert

Jack Mitchell?s Praise Band will present a benefit concert for the Bella Vista Library from 2:30 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 24, at St. Bernard?s Catholic Church Hall off West Lancashire Boulevard (also known as Arkansas Highway 340). Light refreshments will be served.

?Jack and his 15-piece band are donating the concert revenue to support the library by playing big band renditions of familiar Christian music,? said Bella Vista Library Trustee Marilyn Pearson who co-chairs the fundraising event with Pat Swessel. ?They will perform to benefit not only the library, but also music lovers who want to escape winter?s cold and spend a pleasant Sunday afternoon listening to familiar melodies. And we thank St. Bernard?s Catholic Church for making it possible to hold the concert in the parish hall.?

Tickets are $5 each, with reserved tables of eight available upon request. Advance tickets may be bought at the library; Arvest Banks at Town Center, Sugar Creek and Highlands Gate; Delta Bank & Trust at Highlands Gate; First Western Bank on Memorial Drive; and Allen?s Foods at Sugar Creek Shopping Center.

?Mr. Mitchell said he and band members knew of the library?s need for additional revenue and wanted to help,? said Bella Vista Library Director Marianne Farner. ?We appreciate very much the Jack Mitchell Praise Band?s gift of their time and talent, as will those who come to hear the concert.?

For more information, contact Pearson at 855-2499, Swessel at 855-7460, or the library at 855-1753.
