Congressman John Boozman, 57, a successful businessman and life-long resident of Arkansas, is in his fourth term representing the Third District of Arkansas in the United States House of Representatives.

Boozman currently serves on three House committees, holds a position of Assistant Whip, was named to the Speaker?s Task Force for a Drug-Free America in 2003, and since May 2004 has served on House Policy Committee, the committee of key Republicans who vet issues and formulate legislation to address them. Boozman is also a member of numerous House caucuses and was appointed vice-chairman of the British American Parliamentary group, comprised of American and British lawmakers who meet to discuss issues of concerns and foster the already-strong relationship between the two nations.

Boozman was instrumental in the creation of the Arkansas World Trade Center, which opened in 2007. Since its opening, Boozman and the AWTC have hosted numerous foreign dignitaries, including the ambassadors of China, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, and Guatemala; diplomats from Honduras and Nicaragua; and government leaders from Liberia.

Boozman also currently serves as member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Parliamentary Assembly (NATO PA), which is an inter-parliamentary organization of legislators from the 19 member countries of NATO and 20 associate countries. In 2006, Boozman co-presented a report entitled ?China?s Development Challenge.?

The NWAYP is not affiliated with any political party. This event will highlight the Congressman?s views on the current politics and on the need for relationship between business and politics.
Northwest Arkansas Young Professionals (NWAYP) endeavors to offer professional development of members (age 21 & up) through networking events, volunteerism, social events and fund-raisers. NWAYP promotes local businesses and other charitable organizations, while working to improve the quality of life for young professionals in the region, as well as local students through the creation of a scholarship endowment fund for the benefit of two graduating high school Seniors each year.
