The City of Bentonville started phase II of the downtown redevelopment process earlier this week. This follows earlier upgrades to the interior of the square and should prove to be a much needed face lift on the Bentonville square.

Upgrades include a modernized sewer system, brick sidewalks, brick crosswalks, new traffic signals, and increased lanes for traffic to name a few. The planners of this project have set out to be the least disruptive as possible on our already strained roads. Currently crews are digging up the road to improve the sewer system and this is the only part of the over 200 day project that will shut down more than one road if all goes as planned.

If you haven’t been to the Bentonville square in a while you will find that many things have changed and although it is a little less convenient now I still encourage you to go and visit the local businesses on the square. Just to give you an idea, all of the businesses are local people right here in our community. There is a coffee shop, restaurant, jewelry store, bike repair shop, teacher supply store, and more.
