Northwest Arkansas Meteorologists have job security.
It is hard to go a day in Northwest Arkansas without commenting on the weather. It is also hard to believe that the temperature is 72 degrees, then there is a thunderstorm, then 4″-6″ of snow, then by 10 AM most of the snow has melted because the temperature is back to around 40 degrees. All of this in 48 hours.
I have heard people from a lot of different areas say “if you don’t like the weather just wait a day it’ll change” but here I really believe it! This morning I was frantically searching for school and business closings which I use to gauge whether or not I can leave my house. After some thought I decided to take on the fevering task of updating the closings right here on my site. Thanks to everyone that submitted closings - I am going to try to do that as often as I can with closings in the future because it went well.
So my hat is off to the people that predict the weather for us in NWA. They are always hated if they get things wrong but in reality nobody knows the future but they get pretty darn close.
