Explosion at AERT plant in Springdale
AERT recycles plastic and makes it into building products but today they had to battle with an explosion.
This morning there was an explosion at the Advanced Environmental Recycling Technologies Inc. (AERT) plant on Hunstville Rd. in Springdale. Thankfully there was only one minor injury reported. So far there has been no indication from AERT officials as to what caused the explosion. The plant closed for the day for an internal investigation.
The fire from the blast knocked out power to around 750 residents which has been restored.
