Wal Mart Shareholders can visit the Bentonville square and so can you.

Bentonville Square is open for business

Today hundreds of people in charter busses visited the historic 5 & 10 where Sam Walton got his start. These people are here for the annual shareholder’s meeting for Wal Mart Stores. Some are here from around the country and others from around the globe, but they all enjoy taking in the sites that we take for granted.

The Bentonville square is undergoing a major renovation which should propel it into a destination for years to come. What about the business that are there now though? I can’t help but feel like they are struggling a bit. One business on the square that is hoping to help make it a destination is a great friend of ours at Inside NWA. That business is Java on the Square.

Java on the Square has remained open through the downtown redevelopment but the crowds are thinner these days and not because of quality. They became a friend of ours from the first cup of black coffee I was served there. After tasting one of the best cups of brewed coffee I’d had, I tried everything else on the menu. Shea and I visited many times and became aquainted with the owner and managers. Through these experiences I can honestly say that they have the some of the best coffee and pastries you can find and they are some of the best people you could meet. Go to downtown Bentonville and try them out, I will explain for you coffee conesuirs why they have the best coffee and mixed drinks in town.

Coffee brewing is a precise practice that takes the proper equipment and the proper ingredients to master. Anyone can brew a cup of coffee, but it takes skill to take it to the next level. Java on the Square uses the precise temperature (they won’t tell me what that is) to brew their freshly ground beans. They also use ultra purified water. Sometime when you are there have them pour you a cup of water - trust me it is the best you will get bottle or not. Add these ingredients with their made fresh pastries, sausage kolashe, and skilled baristas and you have a receipy for a great anytime break.

So if the shareholders can brave the square during redevelopment surely we can to. Go get a cup of coffee at Java on the Square, a burger at The Station Cafe, and watch the future of bentonvilel being created.
